The economist German Fermo (@Germanfermo) went viral on Twitter this weekend after sharing his outrage at what he had been charged at “La Biela”, an emblematic bar in the City of Buenos Aires, located in the neighborhood of Recollect.

“I’m in La Biela, I ordered a shitty Traviata… which is a criollita with a piece of shitty ham and cheese… They charged me $1,100. bring the bill,” he wrote angrily on his Twitter account, along with a photo of the dish.

Immediately, thousands of users joined the economist’s claim and soon the media began to cover the “Traviata Conflict”, as he called it, ironically.

After the impact that this tweet had on the networks, one of those in charge of La Biela clarified to the Infobae media outlet that this sandwich “comes with two slices of ham and two of cheese. I don’t know why there is such a stir with the price: it appears in the menu,” said the employee of the place.
