This Saturday, a 12-year-old boy died and his mother (38) and grandmother (56) were injured when they were attacked with machetes. The crime took place in the Kairos neighborhood, his uncle identified as Eric Vandeveld (28) was arrested.
What happened would have been reported by the victim’s neighbors, who called 911 and also intervened to arrest the aggressor. The sources indicated that the police arrived at the scene at a time when the neighbors wanted to lynch the alleged attacker, who was detained.
At the home, the troops seized a bloody machete and a war knife, with which they would have encouraged the attack. The victims were taken to the Emergency Hospital, where the 12-year-old boy died and the two women were hospitalized.
According to doctors, the attacker’s mother had stab wounds to her face and skull, and the sister also had cuts to her skull and abdomen.
The detainee was made available to the Family Violence Prosecutor, Cristian Griffi, who arranged a series of proceedings for the special Homicide team to investigate the motive for the attack.
