Before traveling to Brazil to attend the inauguration of Lula da Silva, the President of the Nation, Alberto Fernández, announced that he will request the impeachment of the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Horacio Rosatti. The president seeks to investigate the conduct of the magistrate in the performance of his functions in the framework of the conflict that the Nation maintains with the City of Buenos Aires over co-participation funds.

“I will order the Minister of Justice and Human Rights to promote the pertinent criminal actions to investigate the alleged acts of corruption that would involve officials from the city of Buenos Aires with business contractors from that autonomous state,” said Alberto Fernández.

The decision is based on a series of reports that emerged regarding alleged hacking and illegal espionage by members of Together for Change and Justice officials. It also requests that the conversations that have been leaked in recent times between Marcelo D’Alessandro, a Buenos Aires official, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, and different judicial operators and businessmen, be investigated.
