Through provision 4356/2022 published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette, the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) prohibited the production, fractionation and marketing of “Micronized Matcha Green Tea, Antioxidant – Reducing – Relaxing, from Misiones” , for “lacking health records, turning out to be an illegal product”.
The actions were initiated by the consultation of a consumer. Subsequently, a federal consultation was carried out through the Federal Information System for Food Control Management (SIFeGA), to the Food, Water and Laboratory Division of the Province of Misiones, in order to verify if the product was authorized, which reported that the registry consulted did not exist in that jurisdiction.
Then, Federal Consultation No. 7633 was made to the National Service for Agrifood Health and Quality (SENASA) to report on the aforementioned product, who responded that according to the provisions of Decree 815/99, the product is not under the responsibility from service.
