Spotifyone of the world’s most popular streaming audio platforms, announced an increase in its rates for 50 countriesincluding the United States, its main market, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Mexico and other markets. It is the first time the company has increased its prices since it entered the US market in July 2011.

The measure includes both family and individual plans and that the increase will not only take place in Argentina. Apple Music, Peacock, Netflix, Max and Paramount+ have also increased their prices in recent months. As indicated by the platform itself, the measure is implemented while maintaining “the company’s investment and innovations.”

Spotify explained that users “will receive a one-month grace period before the new price takes effect, unless they cancel their subscription before that time period ends.” Despite the increases, the company explained that it will continue to offer a free plan that includes advertising.

  • Student: $329.00

For the individual plan, the increase is of the order of 50% in Argentine pesos.
