In the text, originally published in 1973, it deals with the story of a psychiatrist who believes he has sufficient evidence to prove that The Bag Man exists, based on the story of one of his patients, who claims to be a victim himself and his family, of a supernatural creature. The film instead follows the psychiatrist’s daughters, who are dealing with the tragic death of their mother when The Boogeyman shows up to try to hunt them down.
