This morning the burial of renowned journalist César Mascetti took place in the municipal cemetery of San Pedro, who died yesterday, Tuesday, October 4 at the age of 80 after battling cancer. A very moving ceremony was experienced with the presence of relatives and colleagues, who stood in front of his family’s vault to outline some words of affection for César.
The strongest moment was experienced when the farewell words that the driver himself had written before he died were heard. The one in charge of reading them was the singer Sandra Mihanovich, who was shown containing her anguish and tears. The journalist wrote this letter on September 12, 2022, when he already anticipated the sad end.

“I am dying in San Pedro surrounded by peach trees in bloom and orange trees that wait their turn to drop their petals and flood us all with perfume,” begins the writing left by the historic Channel 13 host.
“I am in the middle of the field, walking with my dogs, who have been aware for days what is going to happen. I am looking at the river, listening to the bells that my grandparents heard. I am about to see the pigeons fly that will cover the sky like all the afternoons. Soon they will take me with them to show me the way,” he added.
And he concluded: “I am dying in San Pedro at the age of 80, where I always wanted to die, together with the woman I love, embracing my family. What more can I ask for? I am dying in peace with the satisfaction of having fulfilled my duty.” . After the reading, his relatives opened two baskets containing pigeons and let them fly into the air.
