This Monday the arguments of Cristina Fernández’s defense begin in the trial known as the “Road Cause” in which she is accused of leading an illicit association by granting public works in favor of Austral Construcciones, owned by Lázaro Báez. Thus, the technical defense of the Vice President will make use of the three hearings of up to six hours authorized by Oral Court number 2 for this purpose.

Criminal lawyer Carlos Beraldi will open and develop tomorrow’s and Tuesday’s, seconded by his partner, Ary Llernovoy, while Cristina herself will close on Friday. They will conclude with a claim for acquittal.

Both Beraldi and Llernovoy will seek to dismantle all the arguments put forward by prosecutors Diego Luciani and Sergio Mola, who over nine days considered it proven that, “between 2003 and 2015, an illicit pyramid scheme operated” and that “it had in the top to those who served as heads of state”.
