In April, the Córdoba Consumer Price Index (IPC-Cba) registered an increase in its General Level of 5.28% compared to the previous month, according to the General Directorate of Statistics and Censuses of the province. On this occasion, the inflation registered in the province is lower than the number notified at the national level, different from what had occurred in the month of March.

As detailed from the Province, the monthly variation of the IPC-Cba in the month of April is largely explained by:

  • Food and Beverages Chapter; explained by the increase in the average prices of meat and derivatives; of food and beverages consumed in restaurants/bars; and bread and cereals.
  • Transportation and Communications Chapter; mainly due to increases in the prices of fuel, telephone services and the purchase and sale of vehicles.
  • Clothing and Footwear Chapter; explained by the increase in the average price of clothing.

Goods, which represent 59% of the basket, had a variation of 5.77% in April compared to the previous month, while services, which represent the remaining 41% of the basket, registered a variation of 4.32%.
