Every May 28th is commemorated the International Day of Action for Women’s Health. The date was instituted in 1987 by Latin American and Caribbean Women’s Health Network (RSMLAC) in order to generate equal opportunities in access to health. For this approach, the Ministry of Health of Córdoba uses various promanas and sanitary actions.

Care from pregnancy

For the protection of mothers, girls and boys, the Department of Pregnancy, Perinatal and Childhood Health promotes the “respected or humanized childbirth”which consists of a practice centered on respect for the rights of pregnant people during pre-partum, delivery and puerperium, and also of the newborn baby.

For fertility care and access to comprehensive infertility care, there is the Medically Assisted Reproduction Program that provides low and high complexity treatments to families without social work. Prevention of breast cancer and of cervix

In this regard, the province has the Breast Cancer Early Detection Program whose purpose is equitable access to mammography for women between 40 and 75 years of age for the purposes of early detection, treatment and follow-up after diagnosis.

It should be noted that the province has 22 mammographers, 14 of them located in interior hospitals. In addition, the Program has four mobile mammographers that visit the different locations throughout the year. Access to health during adolescence and youth

Addressing gender-based violence
