Two years after the crime and after acknowledging the murder, Miguel Gutiérrez will be sentenced today to life in prison for the femicide of his ex-partner Denise Vergara.
Facundo Zapiola, plaintiff attorney, told Radio Universidad: “Today the trial ends. Yesterday the debate was opened with the reading of the accusation. The accused recognized the facts at the time of testifying.” And he added: “The sentence is life. There is no other possible sentence.”
Denise Vergara was 31 years old and the mother of a 3-year-old boy. She was murdered on March 9, 2020 in Villa del Totoral. The woman worked at the Cartocor factory in that city in the north of the province and that March 9, the accused entered through a perimeter fence, taking advantage of the fact that she also worked for that firm through a company that outsourced services.
