Diego Concha, the former director of Civil Defense, was charged this Friday with homicide for the death of Luana Ludueña, who took her own life after the complaint she imposed on him accusing him of sexually abusing her. The decision was made by prosecutor Jorgelina Gómez, who aggravated the accusation: “homicide due to sexual abuse with qualified carnal access for having been committed on the occasion of her functions.”

This accusation could mean a life sentence for Concha. It should be remembered that the former official already had another complaint for gender-based violence by his former partner, and he has been detained preventively in the Bouwer prison since November 27, 2021.

On the firefighter, until now, the complaint weighed with accusation for “alleged perpetrator of the crime of sexual abuse with qualified carnal access for having been committed on the occasion of his duties, developed in a context of gender violence”, to the detriment of the young woman. 26 years old, who aspired to join the Technical Team of Action before Catastrophes (Etac).

The request to change the accusation was a claim by Luana’s family and her lawyer, Carlos Nayi, who had repeatedly stated that the case of Sathya, an adolescent who also ended her own life, should be taken as a precedent after having been abused for years by her father, Walter Insaurralde, who was eventually convicted of femicide suicide.
