The fire commissioner Andres Brunoriindicated that “Around 6:00 p.m. when the storm broke out, the athletes were taken to the opposite coast from the one they were on, so they had to mount an operation to search for them after a call was made by those who accompanied them.”

For the operation, they had four boats and a catamaran from one of the families, allowing a search to be carried out in which they found three of the men on the coast and the missing person in the middle of the lake suffering from early hypothermia.

Subjects were brought closer to the base of the duar where an emergency medical service was waiting for them and they checked their vital signs. The security teams that the athletes had and their knowledge of the sport they practice were fundamental when it came to reacting to the situation.

The men were missing for approximately 45 to 50 minutes from the start of the storm.
