Economic activity grew 6.4% in year-on-year terms during June, and 1.1% compared to May, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) reported on Tuesday.

In this way, the Monthly Estimator of Economic Activity (EMAE), accumulated during the first half of the year a rise of 6.3% in relation to the same period of 2021.

In June, the EMAE presented year-on-year increases in 14 of the activity sectors surveyed, among which the Hotels and restaurants category stood out, with an increase of 39.2%; Exploitation of mines and quarries, 14.2%; and Transport and communications, 10.8%.

Other increases were registered in the Wholesale, retail and repairs sector, with an improvement of 8.4%; Manufacturing industry, 6.2%; and Transport and communications, 10.8%.

For its part, the Agriculture sector was the only one that registered a fall in June in the year-on-year comparison, with a decrease of 4.9%. With regard to the following months, official estimates indicated that during July the industry grew 3.5%.
