Electricity and Gas Subsidy: how to sign up and fill out the form
The National Government decided to advance in a regulation of energy rates throughout the country. In this way, only certain groups will pay a “social rate” for electricity and gas, while users with greater purchasing power will have to pay the full value.
The scheme to establish who accesses the subsidy establishes a scale in three groups based on income level.
Depending on the scale in which the users are, they must register in a registry in order not to lose the subsidy or they will pay the full rate. It is estimated that only 10% of users belong to the highest income group and that they will have to pay for the service in full.
Segmentation according to groups and rates
- High segment (higher income households): Total monthly household income that exceeds $333,000 pesos (the equivalent of 3.5 type 2 basic baskets according to INDEC), having 3 or more vehicles less than 5 years old, 3 or more properties, or a boat or aircraft .
- Middle segment (middle income households): total monthly household income greater than 1.5 but less than 3 type 2 basic baskets according to INDEC, not having more than 3 properties and not owning 2 or more vehicles less than 5 years old.
- Social segment (lower income households): this group declares to have total monthly household income equivalent to 1 type 2 basic basket according to INDEC, to have less than 2 properties or not own any and not have a vehicle less than 3 years old.
Enrollment in RASE must be done by all users who wish to maintain the subsidies they receive on their electricity and gas bills. To do this, they must enter the website.
