The Oral Criminal Court 1 of the city of Dolores sentenced this Monday to life imprisonment five of the eight rugby players accused of beating Fernando Báez Sosa to death, in the early morning of January 18, 2020 in the seaside resort of Villa Gesell, while the other three were considered secondary participants.
Judges María Claudia Castro, Emiliano Lazzari and Christian Rabaia unanimously understood that maximum thomsen (23), Cyrus Pertossi (22), Enzo Comelli (22), Matias Benicelli (23) and Luciano Pertosi (21) were co-authors of the crime of “Doubly aggravated homicide by the premeditated contest by two or more people and treachery in an ideal contest of minor injuries”, falling on them perpetual imprisonment; while Blas Cinalli (twenty-one), Ayrton Violaz (23) and Lucas Pertosi (23) were considered secondary participants in the same crime to a sentence of 15 years in prison.
The Oral Criminal Court number 1 of the city of Dolores unanimously rejected the motion for annulment made by the defendants’ lawyer, Hugo Tomei, and immediately read the condemnatory verdict. In the middle of the reading, Máximo Thomsen decompensated and had to be assisted by a doctor. After the fact, the mother blamed the press for harassment. Secondary participants could be released in 7 years, after serving 2/3 of the sentence.
