The Ministry of Culture and Education of the province of Formosa determined that secondary school students will be able to pass the year with 19 previous subjects. Luis Basterra, the holder of the Formosa portfolio, allows students to take the 2022 school year even if they owe all the 2020 subjects. In addition, they may owe three subjects from 2021 and as many from previous years. In his eyes, the pandemic has generated inequalities among students and this has caused the recent initiative.

It should be noted that currently in the other districts of the country, students manage to pass the year with up to three previous subjects. Faced with this situation, the Self-Summoned Teachers Guild strongly criticized Gildo Insfrán’s measure and described it as “educational genocide.”
