The news was confirmed by the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, who explained that in the Fair Prices program “more than 100 companies participate that represent more than 86% of the market, among food, personal hygiene, cleaning and products associated with the basic basket”.

In an interview with the Todo Noticias (TN) channel, he explained that “There are first and second brand or own brand products“, and that “we always work on agreements with companies”. “There is no such thing as freezing prices with an idea of ​​resolution from the minister. The best way is to work with the entire value chain”, added.

The official explained that “most supermarket chains” will participate in the program and that “people will have identified” the products and “will be able to control the agreement with an application from the cell phone, being able to report if they do not comply with it. Everything governed by a barcode.

“The government’s commitment is that these companies leave us 1,400 fixed prices for four months and the rest of the production for four months in which they commit not to raise products more than 4%”added.
