After the last increase in fuel prices, the Government of the Province of Córdoba set the new values of the Fixed Fine Unit (UF)for violations of the Traffic Law, which increases the value of the fines of the Highway Police from this day and until further notice.
Through Resolution 4, published in the Official Gazette by the General Directorate for the Prevention of Traffic Accidents of Córdoba, it was stipulated that the value of the UF will be $199.20. The regulations establish that each of the Fixed Fine Units is equivalent to the lowest retail price corresponding to one liter of super gasoline, as reported by the Federation of Fuel and Related Retailers of the Center of the Republic (FECAC). , up to date 5th of April of the current year, which amounts to precisely that figure.
The Caminera fines will range between $3,984 of the minimum and $398,000 of the maximum penalty.. The reference table of fine values would look like this:
- minor infractions: infractions such as driving while smoking, have a penalty of 20 to 100 UF, that is to say between $3,984 and $19,920, plus the loss of 0 to 2 points on the driver’s license.
- Serious Offenses: Not having the lights on has a penalty ranging from 100 to 200 UF; that is to say between $19,920 and $39,840, with loss of 2 to 5 points on the driver’s license.
- Very serious offences: running red lights, driving the wrong way or exceeding the speed limit, from 200 to 400 UF that is, between $39,840 and $79,680, with a loss of 5 to 20 points.
- Maximum Offenses: destruction or removal of road infrastructure, adulteration of documents and licenses, or maximum blood alcohol levels: from 1,200 to 2,000 UF; that is, between $239,040 and $398,400 pesos and disqualification from driving applies and even a criminal complaint in some cases.
