La Mona Jiménez will offer this Sunday a free outdoor show in front of the Obelisk, as part of a tribute organized by the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires to celebrate her 55-year career.

Many years ago I sang at the Obelisk when Julio Bocca said goodbye, I sang ‘Balada para un Loco’, but this time I will be with my quartet group, which we are 13, and we are going to make a quartet. On Sunday people are going to give me so much joy that perhaps a tear escapes me. I go with all my energy and happiness to entertain people, “said the Cordovan in the previous one through a statement.
The celebration, which will be broadcast simultaneously throughout the country through the Vivamos Cultura platform, will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the presentation of an opening act and will continue at 7:00 p.m., when, with the Obelisk in the background, images of the referent of the quartet.
Jiménez will go on stage to face a ninety-minute recital with a good part of his historical classics such as “Beso a Beso”, “Ramito de Violetas”, “El Federal” and “Quién ha toma todo el vino”, among many others: “I have more than 1,200 songs recorded and 200 hits, of which we chose 22, which are the ones I’m going to sing to celebrate my 55-year career with this party well up there, as the whole country deserves,” he warned.
