The play by the Wobinda Produzioni company will take place next Wednesday, October 12 at 9:00 p.m. at the Ciudad de las Artes Theater (Av. Ricchieri 1955) and on Thursday 13 at 10:00 a.m., as part of the FIT which is held in the capital of Cordoba and has the support of the Italian Consulate and the sponsorship of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The play is based on a true story and dates back to 1956, a time of Italian economic growth. In post-war times, a better future begins to glimpse, rock begins to excite the new generations and peasant struggles to appropriate uncultivated land are common currency in Calabria.

This contemporary theatrical performance written by Colosimo is touring Latin America and arrives precisely in Córdoba due to the strong Italian presence in our land. Precisely, it tells the story of the emigration of a family from rural Calabria (southern Italy) to Argentina in the mid-1950s and represents the expectations, the dreams, as well as the difficulties of Italian families when leaving their country.

“The play will be an occasion to also talk about the importance of theatrical language and the use of the Italian language in these days that bring us closer to the Week of the Italian language in the world (XXII Settimana della lingua italiano nel mondo) that will have place from October 17 to 23 and during which several topics related to the evolution of the language and its use by young people will be developed “says Giulia Campeggio, Consul General of Italy in Córdoba.

The theatrical piece has the Rating +14 and free tickets can be picked up (by order of arrival and subject to the capacity of the room) while supplies last at the Consulate General of Italy in Córdoba tomorrow, Wednesday 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Av. Vélez Sarsfield 360 and are on sale for $500 at the Ciudad de las Artes Theater ticket office (Av. Ricchieri 1955).
