“Sean Eternos, champions of America”, the documentary that will be released this Thursday reveals the harangue given by the captain of the Argentine national team, Lionel Messi, in the preview of the Copa América final against Brazil at the Maracaná stadium in July 2021 .

In the advance that the Netflix platform published this Wednesday, two unpublished sections of Messi’s harangue are observed in the locker room of the mythical Rio de Janeiro stadium where Argentina won the Copa América and cut a 28-year streak without titles.

“Forty-five days without seeing our family, boys. We had a goal and we are one step away from achieving it,” the Argentine captain told his teammates, minutes before leaving to play against Brazil.

And then he expanded: “Coincidences don’t exist, guys, you know what? This Cup had to be played in Argentina and God brought it here so that we can raise it in the Maracana and to make it more beautiful for everyone.”

The one minute and 55 second preview video also has Messi’s voiceovers and the participation of Lionel Scaloni, Nicolás Otamendi, Lautaro Martínez, Rodrigo de Paul, Cristian Romero and Ángel Di María.
