In a key week for negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, and while President Alberto Fernández holds diplomatic meetings with US President Joe Biden and businessmen, the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, held a meeting in Washington DC with the Deputy Managing Director of the IMF, Gita Gopinath.
“In the context of the fourth review of the IMF program, we had a good meeting with the Agency’s Deputy Managing Director Gita Gopinath and her team, with whom we analyzed the impact of the drought in the country and the expiration of the curve was assessed. in pesos”said the head of the Palacio de Hacienda after the meeting.
Along these lines, Massa pointed out that together with the representatives of the Fund, they agreed on the importance of “the government’s decision to continue advancing with measures that promote the increase in exports with the aim of strengthening reserves”. Massa was accompanied by the Head of Advisors, Leonardo Madcur and by the General Director of Customs, Guillermo Michel.
