A survey published this weekend by the CAME (Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprises) indicates that the production of the SME industry grew 0.3% in May compared to the same month last year, at constant prices, therefore it accumulates between January and May an increase of 1.5% compared to the same period in 2022.
They also reported that SME manufacturing production remained unchanged between last April and May, a period in which “they became more frequent” the shortage of inputs “both domestic and imported”.

It was also pointed out that “There are speculative collections by suppliers who withhold merchandise to ask for more prices”; that “Customers delay payments when suppliers require them to cancel all deliveries in advance” and? “Increases in the amounts of basic inputs threaten the profitability of their companies, as long as they cannot transfer them to prices.” However, the industrial capacity used is at the highest level in the last 16 months.
The Food and Beverages category, with an annual growth of 5.3% in its production, ranked as the activity with the highest increase in production, while Paper and Printing registered a year-on-year drop of 14.7% per year.
