Netflix has rebounded, in the third quarter of 2022, in its finances in relation to previous periods, as the company recently revealed in a report it published with the financial results. According to it, the series and movie platform has exceeded 223 million subscribers worldwide. In this context, the company took advantage of the situation to announce three novelties that will take place in the short term.

The first of them is related to shared accounts, Netflix will finally put an end to it. As of January 2023, all those users who share an account and do not reside at the same address will have to pay an additional amount. Although this has already been applied in some countries, now the change will be global. The extra cost will be $2.99.

However, Netflix stated that this charge will not be automatic. In principle, the streaming service will give sub-account users a deadline so that they can transfer their configured profiles to a new account.

Second, a new plan was confirmed that will be cheaper and will contain ads. It will first reach Spain, the United States, Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada and then it will be extended to the rest of the countries.

And the last one is related to a cloud gaming service. For this, Netflix plans to open a new video game development studio in southern California, which would be directed by Chako Sonny, who was an executive producer of the Overwatch game.
