Córdoba had a greater number of organ donors compared to the 2021. This was reported by Cordoba Ablation and Implant Coordinating Entity (Ecodaic)dependent on Ministry of Health of the Province.
Donation activity increased by a 44%. In 2022 they were carried out 108 processes of procurement: 73 organs and 35 corneas. In 2021, the figure reached was 75 donors.
Of the procurement operations carried out, 43 were multiorganic and 30 monoorganicand they ablated 197 organs and 173 corneas.
From the Province highlighted the achievement “These results allowed Córdoba to continue providing a response to people who are on the waiting list, with an average of six organ donors per month and 19 donors per million inhabitants.”
The director of the Ecodaic, Marcial Angósexplained that these figures are the result of advances in the development of the Provincial Procurement Program which began in 2015, and whose objective is to continue increasing the number of donors.
Regarding the transplants carried out in the province during 2022, they added a total of 389, of which 239 were from organs Y 150 horny. In the case of organ transplants, 30 were with a living donor. The donors came from 26 centers of the province, public and private.
