The press parity in Córdoba continues to stagnate and a new 24-hour strike is declared promoted by the Círculo Sindical de la Prensa y la Comunicación de Córdoba (Cispren).

The measure of force is due to the meager offer made by the business sector: the employers maintained their proposal of a 22% increase for the four-month period (from April to July), eliminating an initial offer of a bonus of 4,500 pesos in concept of the review clause of March, agreed in the last parity.

Currently, the basic salary of the press is $131,000. According to the latest data from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), the cost of the Total Basic Basket (CBT) rose 8% in March, for which a family group needed to have income of $191,228 to not fall below the line of poverty.

From the Círculo Sindical de la Prensa y la Comunicación de Córdoba (CISPREN) they reported in a statement that the strike is “in demand for an urgent salary recomposition and in accordance with the critical situation of workers in the sector.”

From Cispren they claim:

  • Salary recomposition already
  • No salary below the basic basket
  • Enough of precariousness
  • Effectiveness of contracted men and women
