Pasta frola is one of the most classic treats in our country. It is very easy to make and only requires a few ingredients to make it.

It can be filled with sweet potato, quince or dulce de leche. And for those who can’t agree on which filling they prefer, we tell you that you can put half and half.

Here is the step by step of this exquisite recipe

Ingredients:

110 butter, 110 sugar, 200 flour 000, 1 egg, salt, baking powder and vanilla essence.

Preparation:

1.The first thing we are going to do is put the diced butter in a bowl. That is not super cold or very melted. We are going to beat it with the sugar until a clear and smooth cream is formed.

2. Now we are going to add the egg and the yolk, the vanilla essence and beat again. Do not be scared if at first it seems that the mixture is “cut”, it is until the yolks are well integrated with the butter.

3.When the preparation is united and smooth again, we are going to put aside the mixer and grab a spatula. Add the leavening flour and incorporate it with the spatula until it can be mixed with your hands. The idea is to integrate the dough, not knead it. Once it is well united, we put it in a film and take it to the refrigerator for a few minutes.

4. Cut the candy into cubes, put it in a bowl, add about a tablespoon of water and microwave it for a minute at medium power to melt it. When it comes out, we mash it with a fork.

5. We take the dough out of the refrigerator, stretch and fit it into the mold and fill the pastry frola with the melted quince or sweet potato candies.

6. Cut some strips and arrange them diagonally on the quince.

7.We take it to the oven at 200° for about 40 minutes or until it is golden brown.

Optional you can add grated coconut on top.
