The Ministry of Social Development together with the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights launched a Crib Room in it Youth Spacedependent on the Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family. It is especially intended for adolescent mothers and fathers and the needs of foster families.
Young Space is a space dependent on SeNAF, and is constituted as a meeting point for adolescents for participation and the construction of their autonomy. From now on, it will have this early childhood space for the care of girls and boys from 45 days to 3 years of age from vulnerable sectors.
The program nursery seeks to contribute to psychosocial development through early stimulation and adequate nutrition, in addition to facilitating the social and labor insertion of those responsible.
Regarding the importance of this initiative Gorgina TavellaSecretary of SeNAF, stated that “A place of their own was needed for young mothers to have their own space. We want the Youth Space not only to be inhabited by Senaf’s adolescents, but that it can later be appropriated by other boys and girls.”
The opening ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights Laura Echeniquethe undersecretary of Senaf Anthony Franco, the general director of Salas Cuna Agnes Zinnythe defender of the Rights of Girls, Boys and Adolescents Amelia Lopezother provincial officials, and local community.
