In a special session that began after 2:00 p.m., Sergio Massa resigned from his seat in Deputies and as president of the Lower House, in order to be sworn in on Wednesday as the new Minister of Economy, Productive Development, and Agriculture. In his farewell message, he gave many thanks and promised that he would begin “a new stage” with his management.
Minutes before the session, the now former deputy had held a meeting alone with the deputies of the Front of All as a farewell. “The resignations that I have presented to the Presidency of the body to the bench of deputy work in the secretariat,” read the leader of the Renovating Front before putting his resignations to a vote.

In his speech he expressed: “I am leaving with a conviction, many times I have heard that Congress is the area of agreements, it is where the different political forces represented in some way can find consensus. Argentina needs that beyond our passionate debate Convinced, he needs that on some issues we have humility, tolerance and the ability to build consensus and state policies,” he stressed.
And he added: “Tomorrow another stage begins and know that starting tomorrow in this new stage that begins I will come a hundred times to this house, which is the house of the people, of democracy, to seek that beyond our differences we can give the Argentines in four, five or ten issues, state policies”.
