The large amount of demand during the holiday season, the festivals and performances in sold-out theaters, the bars packed with people have been the driving force behind a new question about the attitude of Argentines towards finances: Are people prioritizing consumption? before saving?
“What happens in Argentina is that since savings have negative rates compared to inflation, both the people with the potential to save and the motivation to do so have disappeared,” explained economist José Arnoletto.
“On the other hand, those who do not have have completely lost the possibility of thinking that they are going to think of a house, so they say: lost for lost. The answer to that is to immediately enjoy what you have now. The pandemic has also marked that culture of delaying enjoyment in order to start enjoying in the moment”, added
