This Monday begins the seventh edition of the Provincial Week for the Prevention of Drug Consumption under the International Day Against Illicit Traffic and Drug Abuse.
The Secretariat for the Prevention and Assistance of Addictions, under the Ministry of Health, carries out this initiative under the slogan “We take care of ourselves as a family”with which it is intended to emphasize the important role of parenting references to prevent the consumption of alcohol or other substances in adolescents.
from this Monday June 26 to July 3 Various activities will be carried out for the prevention of drug use and health promotion, both in the city of Córdoba and in the localities where the centers of the Assistance Network for Addictions of Córdoba (RAAC).
The different agencies of the provincial government, institutions and social organizations join these activities and the dissemination of health information. In addition, provincial and municipal public buildings will be illuminated in blue, a color that symbolizes the prevention of drug use.
The Provincial Week for the Prevention of Drug Consumption was instituted by the Legislature of Córdoba through Law 10,610, since 2019. The objective is to raise awareness in society about the issue of addictions, to sensitize public opinion on this matter and publicize the actions carried out by the more than 200 spaces that exist in the province, both for the prevention and for the assistance of addictions.
During all the editions and after the diffusion carried out during those days, the consultations to start treatments increase by 30%.

– Conversation “We take care of ourselves as a family”: The meeting will take place on Tuesday June 27 in the auditorium of the Cordoba Legislature. –
– Launch of the Course for Community Promoters for the Prevention of Addictions: It will take place on June 29 at 4:00 p.m. at the Ciudad de las Artes Theater.
– Training session on addictions in Alta Gracia: It will take place on June 29 at 9:00 a.m., at the Cine Teatro Monumental Sierras de Alta Gracia. This event will feature an outstanding lecture by the renowned psychiatrist Geraldine Peronace.
– Recreational day “Promoting health from meetings”: It will take place on July 1 at 2:00 p.m. in the Botanical Garden.
