This Thursday the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) released the employment and unemployment rate for the first quarter of 2022. The results were considered encouraging since the percentage of unemployed was 7%.
Unfortunately, the IERAL researcher, Laura Caullo, explained to us that the political and economic reality is more complex than what the numbers show.
Caullo assured that the 7% unemployment rate is “a relative truth” since if social plans such as the Work Promotion plan, the ppp, the PIL, PIP, etc. are eliminated. ” the employment rate would become 12.6%”. This figure is similar to that recorded during the strict confinement of 2020 due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.
