Volunteer firefighters, ETAC personnel and two hydrant planes controlled a forest fire that broke out in the Santa Mónica ranch, in Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, after noon on Tuesday. The staff managed to put out the flames, but there are still hot spots, as reported by the Secretariat for Climate Risk Management, Catastrophes and Civil Protection.
The provincial Civil Protection System is working on the CuchiCorral fires that, although contained, continue to be unstable, with hot spots to cool down, possibilities of restarts and unfavorable weather conditions. The fire is still 90% controlled, with activity in ravines that are difficult to access for firefighters.
Towards the south of the province, the flames that affected the Alpa Corral area are inactive and on guard with ashes. Yesterday more than 200 troops worked, including groups of Firefighters, Civil Protection personnel and Fire Management Plan, local Civil Defense and ETAC. In addition, 5 aircraft and tanker trucks belonging to municipalities and Fire Departments affected the refueling of aircraft.
