Sergio Massa announced this Wednesday at the Ministry of Economy a reduction of up to 20% average in the prices of sports shoes, after signing an agreement with businessmen in the sector, and anticipated that they will seek to extend it to the rest of sportswear.
The agreement, in which the main shoe manufacturers participated, contemplates a reduction of up to 20% of the prices in force as of December in the brands and models of shoes with the highest turnover in the market. In addition, the agreement provides for a price path of up to 3% for the months of January, February, March and April.
“The agreement that we are carrying out has several important issues for the citizen. Going to a national production volume of 40 million pairs in Argentina it is important in job creation and investment. It is also important in imports, since we have the capacity to work on a scheduled agreement,” said Massa.
“In the challenge that we set ourselves as an economic team to take care of the dollars, we agreed on an average reduction of 15% in the list prices of all sports footwear. We hope that sportswear will also be added soon,” said the official.
The brands Nike, Puma, Adidas, Topper, Fila, Umbro, Asics, Kappa, Crocs, Reebok, Vans, Hush Pupies, Rip Curl, Lotto, New Balance, All Star, Converse, Le Coq Sportif, Jaguar, DC participate in the agreement. , Kioshi, Decker, Addnice, Head, CooperShoes, Kalwer, Joma, Pony, Bicontinentar and Ferli.
