“The great risk is inflation, which has also been pushed by exogenous factors,” Kristalina Georgieva, director of the International Monetary Fund, said Wednesday at a press conference in Washington, referring to our country. To this she added that “a large part of the attention will be placed on trying to lower inflation, so that people in Argentina have confidence to save in their own currency”

Georgieva stressed that “we have a common goal with the new program: that it can be successfully implemented to help the people of Argentina. And in that sense, the implementation must include a recalculation that takes into account the impact of global changes on Argentina, because it is an exporter of raw materials”.

“Regarding the first review, it has been advanced, so there will be news soon from the technical staff after talking with the Argentine authorities about its progress,” added the official.

It should be remembered that this Friday the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, will meet with Georgieva for the Spring Assembly between the organization and the World Bank in Washington.
