The largest mural in the world in homage to Diego Armando Maradona, located on Avenida San Juan y Solís, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of San Cristóbal, was inaugurated today on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the birth of “Ten”.

It is a work of 40 meters wide by 45 meters high by the artist Martín Ron, which is why it became the largest mural dedicated to the player who made history in the Argentine National Team and who wore the shirts of Argentinos Juniors, Boca , Newel´s, Barcelona and Seville in Spain and Napoli in Italy.

Thus, with the presence of a crowd on the day Diego would have turned 62, during a free event in which artists participated and in which a series of activities were carried out, Ron’s historic work was presented, which shows an image of Maradona at the start of the 1990 World Cup final in Italy.

Santiago Carreras, manager of the Department of Institutional Affairs and Communication of YPF, which carried out the initiative, stated in the prelude to the presentation: “Within the framework of the football platform and in the middle of the World Cup year, we could not miss the tribute to the most great of all time. This led us to promote this project with great joy and enthusiasm.”

“We did not choose Diego in glory, we chose an image of him in the 90s with the harangue, the words of encouragement and when the Italians whistled the anthem. That Diego who invites you to go forward and each one who passes by that corner and you see it, surely you are going to feel that way,” Carrera explained.
