This Tuesday, May 17, and within the framework of the Provincial Day for Equality and Non-Discrimination for Sexual Orientation, Identity and Gender Expression, the Vice President of the Legislature of the Province, Nadia Fernández, will award a recognition to the theater director, playwright and actor , Pepe Cibrián in order to highlight his career as “the most important representative of Argentine musical theater”, as indicated by sources in the legislature.
It should be noted that the delivery of this day is not arbitrary Cibrián is also recognized for having publicly defended gender freedom when in 2010 he promised to defend the project that legalized same-sex marriage in Argentina and intervened during a session Senate Special.
It should be remembered that the Provincial Day for Equality and Non-Discrimination for Sexual Orientation, Identity and Gender Expression is held every May 17 to commemorate the day on which the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1990 decided to eliminate the homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses.
