Lieutenant Governor Manuel Calvo convened the Plenary of the Chamber for a special session, this Wednesday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m., in the legislative building in commemoration of the 47th anniversary of the last civic-military coup that occurred in our country.

Decree 22/2023 signed by the lieutenant governor establishes that the objective of this session will be to remember and repudiate the events of that March 24, 1976, when the democratic order of our country was interrupted.

Within the framework of Memory Week, this special session will also be an occasion to honor the victims of the last dictatorship and ratify the Unicameral’s commitment to the fight for Memory, Truth and Justice.

Likewise, and with the unanimity of the blocks, a limited agenda was agreed with those bills and declarations alluding to the date. They also announced that the session will be broadcast live from the official website of the Legislature: https://legislaturacba.gob.ar/

The Memory Week was established by this Legislature in 2019, through the enactment of Law 10619, which seeks to consolidate a culture based on the defense of Human Rights, and in commemoration of the National Day of Memory for Truth and Justice.
