The Mi Argentina application incorporated the non-binary gender option (X) for the registration of the digital profile of citizens, within the framework of Presidential Decree No. 476/21 and the Gender Identity Law No. 26,743.

In this way, all people who have processed their non-binary gender identity before the National Registry of Persons (Renaper) will be able to choose this option when registering in Mi Argentina. With the new profile, users will be able to access their credentials from organizations that have also implemented the non-binary identity option in their records.

It is worth mentioning that the Mi Argentina application incorporated from this Tuesday the option of non-binary gender (X) for the registration of the digital profile of citizens. This measure arises within the framework of Presidential Decree No. 476/21 and the Gender Identity Law No. 26,743.

One fact no less is that Argentina is the first country in the region to recognize non-binary gender identities in registration and identification systems. The most recent national precedent is the Joint Resolution of the ANSES and the AFIP that established the generic and non-binary character of the prefixes (20 and 27) to the CUIL and CUIT numbers and their random assignment.

At the international level, countries such as Germany, Canada, India, Colombia and the United States, among others, recognize gender identities outside the male/female binary paradigm.
