The update of the tax on liquid fuels corresponding to all of 2021 began to take effect from this Saturday, in accordance with the provisions of the latest definition of the Government, which this time decided not to postpone its application again.

The Secretary of Energy, Flavia Royon, had anticipated it days before: “as of October 1 there will be an increase in fuels due to the unfreezing of taxes and will be between 1% and 4%depending on whether it is gasoline or diesel”.

But shell reported an increase in fuels of a 6% average in all its service stations in the country.

The last increase had been registered on August 22 when the companies coincided in an average percentage of 7.5%. In this way, the tax increased as established by Law 23,966, which established that in January, April, July and October of each year, the tax is updated based on the variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) that provides the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec),

In this case, the update that is made corresponds to the first two quarters of 2021, which were successively postponed by presidential decree. Those of the third and fourth quarters of last year and the first and second quarters of this year were left for January 1, 2023.
