This afternoon, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) released the new data on the basic basket for April. The cost of the products that make up the basic food basket (CBA) rose 6.7% in that month, which determined that a family made up of two adults and two children needed an income of $42,527 to avoid falling into poverty.

On the other hand, the cost of the total basic basket (CBT) marked an increase of 6.2% in April, with which a typical family had to have i $95,260 to avoid falling below the poverty line.

According to the Indec, the interannual variations of the Basic Food Basket (CBA) and the Total Basic Basket (CBT) stood at 59.4% and 51.3%, respectively.
