This Monday afternoon, the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation declared his incompetence to intervene in a cause that promoted the province of Córdoba against the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) to access the exchange market and pay its external debt.
The Province had filed an amparo action against the monetary entity before the federal court of Córdoba number 2, to annul communication “A” 7782 of the BCRA and any other rule or provision of any national authority that prevents it from accessing the market. of exchanges to acquire the foreign currency necessary to cancel all of its external debt on the dates agreed with its external creditors.
Córdoba had to face a payment of about US$ 143 million, corresponding to the capital and interest of a debt contracted with foreign creditors, and in July, October and December of this year there will be other debt maturities for approximately US$ 140 millions.
