The unemployment rate fell to 7% at the end of the fourth quarter of last year, 4 percentage points below the 11% registered at the end of 2020, reported the Indec.
In this way, the index was also 1.2 percentage points below the 8.2% of the third quarter of last year.
In addition, in the fourth quarter of last year, the employment rate reached an all-time high, standing at 43.6% of the population. Since the start of the series in 2016, it had failed to exceed 43%.
On the other hand, the activity rate in the fourth quarter of 2021 reached 46.9% of the population and grew 0.2 percentage points (pp) compared to the previous quarter (46.7%) and 1.9 pp compared to the same quarter of 2020 (45.0%).
