Cordovan wines stand out more and more at a national level, and are recognized and awarded internationally. In the North of Cordoba, the Sierras Chicas, Traslasierra, Calamuchita or Punilla, vineyards such as Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Isabella (raspberry), among others, stand out.
We show you the wine route and which vineyards and wineries you can visit:
Finca Las Breas

Located at the foot of the Altas Cumbres and surrounded by a majestic landscape, it is a mandatory stop when visiting Las Tapias, in the Traslasierra Valley. It is a boutique winery that, since its foundation in 2004, offers products of the highest quality, made by hand.
In Las Breas it is possible to enjoy the production, tour the facilities and learn about the production process. Take a tour of the Malbec plantation, visit the production plant, where you can see the fermentation tanks and the different machinery used, go through the underground cellar and the tasting room, and purchase some of their products.
Estancia Las Cañitas, winery & vineyards

Just six kilometers from Villa Berna is Estancia Las Cañitas, a place to savor in the Sierras de Córdoba. Inside, you can learn about its history and the particularity of its vines, preserved in French and American oak barrels.
During the walk, you can also discover its vineyards, surrounded by stone giants and pine forests. The vines, coming from France, are: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Bonarda and Sauvignon Blanc. Along the way, it is key to distinguish the aroma of blackberries and natural herbs, so characteristic of the area.
To finish, you can enjoy an unforgettable lunch at the estancia’s restaurant. The menu is based on regional and seasonal products: many of the ingredients that come to the table are taken from the local garden.
Araoz de Lamadrid Winery

The Aráoz de Lamadrid winery is part of Finca El Tala in the commune of San Javier. In this corner of the Traslasierra Valley, vineyards and a winery are combined where red, white and rosé wines are produced by hand. In addition, it has a botanical garden and a mountain lodging to rest.
On a guided tour you can appreciate these landscapes and their facilities, which also stand out for having two fermentation tanks of 4,500 kg and another two of 2,500 kg and a cellar where there are 28 barrels with more than 6,000 liters in oak storage.
