The Secretariat of Climate Risk, Catastrophes and Civil Protection confirmed that there are no active fires, although some hot spots persist in Valle de Punilla on which firefighters and hydrant planes are working to prevent the flames from restarting.

There the fire affected rural sectors of La Falda, Huerta Grande, Villa Giardino and La Cumbre. The focus spread to the mountain area near Camino El Cuadrado, in the jurisdiction of Salsipuedes.

This Sunday morning, the department’s lookout plane flew over the affected area to monitor the situation. In the sector between La Granja and Ascochinga, where firefighters fought the fire until Saturday, there are no hot spots left.

However, the risk of fires in the province will continue at extreme levels until Tuesday.
