The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) will prohibit access to the savings dollar to those who have requested and manage to maintain subsidies for public services such as electricity and gas in Córdoba.

According to official sources, the measure could be announced in the next few hours.

In any case, the BCRA would not need to issue any new regulations, since communication A7105 of September 2020 is in force, when it prohibited the purchase of foreign currency to beneficiaries of social assistance plans or programs, including food subsidies.

The official criterion is that the use of the solidarity dollar is considered Foreign Asset Formation (FAE).
