Along with the description of the biography and the data that each of the users add, the social network will show a new label with the icon of a shield and a message like “Phone number verified”.

This new label could be a strategy to control the number of bots and fake accounts on the platform, and which have been the main cause for millionaire Elon Musk to desist from wanting to buy Twitter.
At the moment, this tag is part of an internal test, and it is unknown when it will be applied to all users who have an active account within the network.
