The International Day of Light is an event created by UNESCO to promote the role of light in science, culture, art, education and sustainable development.
In Córdoba under the motto “Come to know how the lights paint the world” multiple cultural activities will be carried out. All of them will be held in the Plaza Cielo Tierra science center, located at 1,300 Chacabuco Boulevard and will be free of charge.
Schedule of activities
Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13
- “Moon observation day”: an event will take place at 7:00 p.m. that allows you to see how the light of the Sun is reflected on the surface of the Moon.
Tuesday, May 17 and Thursday, May 19
- Workshop for young people “Light and darkness on the Moon”: The event will start at 11 and will include a talk on the cycle of phases of the Moon
Friday 20
- Presentation of the playful space “Mix of luminous energy”: At 4:00 p.m. Here we will study how molecules absorb light energy
Saturday May 21
- Closing of the program with activities that will begin in the morning and will last until the afternoon-night of Saturday. It includes a workshop from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for children from 5 to 11 years old in which they will play games with fluorescent and phosphorescent paints in a collective mural.
