For the first time in Argentina, people living on the streets will be censused, it will be carried out through a special operation as told to Télam by Pablo Ceballos, National Director of the National Statistical System.
Ceballos affirmed that on this occasion “a special operation is going to be carried out in the 31 agglomerates where the Permanent Survey of Households of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses is carried out to relieve people living on the streets.”
The operation will take place on the night of May 16 from 8:00 p.m., the workers will go in twos: a census taker and a social operator who will travel in a vehicle with a driver to “sweep” the blocks .
The figures about poverty and indigence in Córdoba
In Córdoba in 2021 the number of poor people went from 635 thousand to 732 thousand. Which means a rise of 15%, which contrasts with a growth in private employment according to SIPA, that is, almost 100,000 new Cordovans were added to the situation of poverty.
Meanwhile, the population living in indigence stood at 9% (152,000 people), accounting for a growth of 0.7 pp. compared to the first half of 2020 and an increase of 2.0 pp. compared to the second half of 2020.
